921217_crashed_car.jpgEarlier this week, the Bluefield Daily Telegraph reported on a single-car accident that occurred in Bluefield, West Virginia. According to news reports, the young man driving a sedan jumped the curb onto the sidewalk on North Street and crashed into a utility pole. The vehicle was going fast enough on impact to break the utility pole in half, flip over, and roll over seventy feet more before finally coming to rest. Unfortunately, the driver of the car was killed in the wreck and one passenger is in critical condition at a hospital in Charleston. A second passenger escaped the incident without suffering any potentially fatal injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
